Working at Boswells
Staff development and well-being are hugely important to us.
At The Boswells School staff wellbeing and staff development are hugely important to us. The school has a staff wellbeing committee who meet half termly to ensure the views of the whole staff body are shared. The school is also signed up for the 'Education Staff Wellbeing Charter'
Continuous Professional Development
We are passionate about the development of our staff and have a robust schedule of professional development opportunities. We aim to cater for the needs of all staff members, from our Early Career Teachers to those that are preparing for leadership. Our CPD activities are delivered in a range of formats with both compulsory and optional elements to suit the needs of the staff member.
We are flexible with the delivery of professional development to cater for part time staff so that every member of staff has the opportunity to attend all CPD sessions that they wish to.
Early Career Teachers
Here at Boswells we run an ECT induction programme that meets all of the statutory requirements underpinned by the ECF. We provide ECTs with a supportive environment that develops them and equips them with the tools to be effective and successful teachers.
Each ECT has a dedicated mentor for the 2-year process along with an Induction tutor who will help the ECT stay on track through regular observations and feedback. The mentor & ECT will have a dedicated hour a week to undertake a mentor session to help the ECT with any support they may need. We have very supportive faculties across the school. ECTs will find they get support from multiple sources not just their mentors and induction tutors.
